Day 1 arrival in Addis Abeba

Depart from home city and arrive in Addis Abeba. Upon arrival at bole international airport, you will be welcomed and assisted by our staff and driven to your hotel for check in.

Addis Abeba is a pleasant city with wide avenues, interesting museums and one of the largest open air markets in Africa, known as the “Merkato”. It also has a good number of restaurants and discotheques.

After lunch, you will visit the national museum, known to be the best museum in Africa, where cultural and archaeological relics, including a plaster cast of “Lucy”, the 3.2 million year old Hominid, are displayed and you will also be taken to emperor Hailesilasie’s former palace which is now the home of the ethnological museum where you find the best of the arts and crafts of the country and give an in depth insight into various peoples of Ethiopia.

Day 2 flight to Gonder

After breakfast, you shall be transferred to the airport to catch your flight to Gonder. Gonder was the third capital city of the Ethiopian empire, which began in 1632 with the reign of Fasiledas. It is set in a landscape of incomparable beauty. You will visit the castle, one of the most marvellous buildings built by emperor Fasiledas and his descendant.

You will visit the fascinating Debre Birhan Selassie church, its walls and ceilings decorated with scenes of biblical lore and medieval history.it shows the religious art of the Gonderian period.

Day 3 flight to Aksum

Upon arrival we check in to the hotel and start our visit of the amazing sites of Aksum, including its collection of ancient Stelea, the bath, the tomb of king Kaleb and Gebremeskel and palace of the queen of Sheba and St Mary of Zion church which legend says home to the ark of the covenant

Day 4 flight to Lalibela

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight to lalibela. Lalibela is located at an altitude of 2600mts above sea level. The town contains 11 monolithic churches that were built in the twelfth century and are carved out of the pink granite rock; they have been classified as one of the wonders of the world. Each church has a unique architectural style; all are superbly carved and most of them are decorated with well- preserved paintings. The entire town may be described as a sculpture dedicated to the glory of God. The day is dedicated to visiting the most important churches from the first and second group of rock hewn churches and the town itself.

Catch the flight to Addis Abeba and head to lunch. After lunch we will have a tour to trinity cathedral church very famous for its paintings and for its being the place of the last emperor Hailesilasie and his wife after they passed away. Finally we will have last minute shopping in Addis Abeba before we transferred to the farewell dinner in traditional restaurant where you will experience live cultural music and dance.
