Day 1 Drive to Arbaminch 460km

Early in the morning we will start our journey to Arbaminch via Butajira & Hosanna. We will also meet the wolayta tribe people as we go passing through little visited villages and admiring spectacular green hills.

Day 2 Lake Chamo and Dorze Village

This morning we take a boat trip to view the crocodiles and the giant hippopotamus on Lake chamo & then in the afternoon we drive through the mountains to Dorze village to see their unique culture, village and their elephant looking houses.

Day 3 Arbaminch-Jinka 247km

This morning we continue our drive through the land of the konso tribes and we will have a stop to visit their villages who managed to develop a highly specialized agricultural economy and in the process one of Africa’s most fascinating culture. After lunch we proceed our drive to jinka town where we will visit the museum of south omo which displays each of the tribes’ ethnographies.

Day 4 Jinka-Mursi-jinka-Turmi 245km

This morning we are going to drive to Mago national park one of the biggest parks in the country; in the park we may experience varieties of birds, antelopes, monkeys and varieties of plants. The excursion will escort you to see widespread custom of half-naked Mursi women, the insertion of wooden and terra-cotta discs into the ear lobes, the split and stretching of their lower lips to make room for similar discs. Though these lip-plates may appear bizarre to outsiders the Mursi regard them as a sign of beauty. Generally speaking the larger the lip plate the more desirable the wearer. In the afternoon we shall travel to turmi for the night

Day 5 Turmi-koricho-Turmi 130km

Morning we drive to koricho 65km,a settlement for the karo ethnic groups, perhaps the most beautiful with its lofty views over the omo river and traditional karo dwelling. They are experts in body painting, using clay and locally available vegetable pigments to trace fantastic pattern on each face, chest, arm and leg. Karo men also sculpt and shave their hair into extravagant shapes topped off with several ostrich feathers. Afternoon we will visit the Hamer village

Day 6 Turmi-konso-Arbaminch 290km

This morning we leave from Turmi and drive to Arbaminch on the way we will see the Tsemay and konso tribes. We will enjoy the landscape and the scenery on the way to konso. Depending the day we arrive we may have a market to be attended

Day 7 Gonder to Debark 104 km approx. 1 hour and half drive

This morning we leave to Addis Abeba driving through the rift valley lakes of shala ,Abiata,langano and shashemene the known Ras Teferians village. En route we will visit the fabulous Alaba tribe’s house and their village, Ziway Lake with its collection of varieties of aquatic birds. And finally our trip would be concluded with a traditional farewell dinner where you witness the traditional music and dance
